🌱 The Soil of Your Soul

Scripture Focus: Mark 4:18–20 (NIV)
“Still others, like seed sown among thorns, hear the word; but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful. Others, like seed sown on good soil, hear the word, accept it, and produce a crop—some thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times what was sown.”
💭 Where Do You Land?
So many of us receive the Word of God — but where does it truly land in our hearts? Each season, each chapter, and even each birthday feels different, because we are no longer the same person we once were.
In Christ, we are being sanctified and edified for the Church. We shouldn’t look the same as we did six months ago. Growth is part of the gospel journey — not just in what we know, but in how deeply we allow God’s truth to take root within us.
🌾 When Growth Feels Harder Than Before
I often take time for personal reflection — looking at both professional and spiritual growth. But recently, I’ve noticed something shifting: the spiritual has begun to outweigh the physical/professional.
Have you been in a place where growth feels harder than before? Maybe it’s not that you’re doing something wrong — but that the thorns of this life have crept in quietly:
The worries that drain your joy.
The desires that distract your focus.
The busyness that chokes out time with God.
✝️ Freedom Comes With Revelation
Please allow me to share this beautiful gospel truth — one that has personally transformed my walk:Your divine appointment with Jesus, who is seated at the right hand of the Father, is where clarity begins.
Yes, through His Cross and Resurrection, Jesus has already set you free — free indeed! But true freedom also requires revelation: seeing where you have not yet surrendered.
The thorns don’t leave on their own. They are uprooted when the Holy Spirit reveals what’s been choking your growth. And when you surrender those areas, what once felt barren becomes fertile ground again — good soil, ready to produce a harvest beyond measure.
🌸 Reflection Questions
What “thorns” — worries, desires, or distractions — have been choking your spiritual growth lately?
Where might the Holy Spirit be inviting you to surrender control?
How can you nurture your soil so the Word can take deeper root?
🙏 Breath Prayer
“Lord Jesus, show me where the thorns have grown in my heart. Uproot what keeps me from You, and make my heart good soil again.”
🌿 Prayer of Spiritual Uprooting and Renewal
Lord Jesus,
You are seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. I ask that You uproot every bad seed and tear down every false throne that has taken root in my life. Cast them to the foot of the Cross, never to return.
Plant within me new heavenly seeds — seeds of righteousness, peace, and joy — that will grow and bear abundant fruit for the glory of God the Father.
In Jesus’ mighty Name, Amen.
💗 Closing Thought
Every seed carries potential — but the soil decides the harvest. Let this be the season you guard your soil, water it with the Word, and let grace do its growing work in you.
